PARDON AND PAROLE BOARD Pardon
and Parole Board Investigator I, #141A, Pardon
& Parole Board, 120 N. Robinson, Suite 900W, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. One
Vacancy. Location: Oklahoma City Community Corrections Center, Kate Barnard
Community Corrections Center, Hillside Community Corrections Center and Carver
Transitional Center, Oklahoma City, OK, Oklahoma County. The beginning date
is Monday, April 23, 2012, and the ending date is Friday, May 4, 2012. The
monthly Salary Range for Level I, Pay Band I is minimum $2,144 – mid-point
$2,858 per month. Essential
Functions: This is the basic level
where incumbents perform entry level work under close supervision and receive
training in conducting investigations for clemency consideration, including
evaluating an offender’s criminal justice record and personal history and
making clemency recommendations. Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities required at this
level include knowledge of laws, rules and regulations regarding the parole
process; of the Oklahoma criminal justice system; of interviewing techniques;
and of report writing and record keeping. Ability is required to make reasonable
recommendations regarding clemency consideration; to establish and maintain
effective working relationships; to conduct technical investigations relative to
social/criminal/incarceration history; to communicate effectively, both orally
and in writing; and to gather and analyze criminal justice information. Education
and Experience requirements at this
level consist of the statutory requirements of Title 57 O.S. Section 357:
“Profession investigators shall have a four year degree from an accredited
college or university, with a major in psychology, sociology, criminal justice
or related areas of study. The agency may at its discretion waive the
requirement of a specific major and may substitute criminal justice experience
for the requirement of a major in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or
related areas of study.” Permanent classified
employees including those having reinstatement rights wishing to be considered
for this position must submit two (2) complete sets of the “Personnel Data
Summary Sheet” (OPM-4B) with a cover letter that provides the title of the
position as shown above, mailing address, daytime phone number, current job
classification and class code. The OPM-4B must clearly indicate how you meet the
education and/or experience requirements. The position may be over-filled as an
